Contentedly abiding in a quaint mountain yurt within the elysium which is Alaska. Mother to a sweet smiling baby boy, bonus Momma to two sweet Littles, and with the priceless co-creative support of my partner & photographer Felipe Mendez.
Originally born and raised where the strength of redwoods abut the powerful coastline in Northern California. I first discovered painting and drawing organically as a child and it became a lifelong meditation with which to navigate life. An exploration of self and my own inner landscape. A voice to the struggles and complex emotions faced within. Putting paint to paper to communicate through color, shape, and texture, what words could not.
I am inspired by the lives of others who choose to live simply in our fast-paced, tech-driven world. A tribute to home, story, culture, and folklore. Moved by the peace and beauty of nature and our intertwined relationship with it. Often, I paint on found objects, giving what was once refuse now a renewed breath of life.
